WUDANG ZHAO BAO TAIJIQUAN (ZHAOBAO)
ZHAO BAO FORM
In the translation that I myself I have done of these movements, I have tried to fit the translations of some of the names of movements the styles Chen and Yang both share. But some times I have changed them because the original Chinese has seemed to fit better. I have based them on my chats with Zhang, who has told me that, for example, the movement "To take the tail of the peacock" translated in the books of the Yang style that I have seen, in Spanish as "Taking the tail of the sparrow". Although the term "què" immediately, means sparrow, here it is implied as "kong qué", which means peacock. In addition, within the Yang exercise "Internal" you can clearly see a position where it looks like a full size peacock has been picked up in arms. We have great difficulty when translating from Chinese, mainly because
if we base it exclusively on dictionaries. On one hand the published ones
in Spanish are of low quality, and on the other hand, other terms cannot
be found, or they do not include/understand all the possible meanings,
and this is more frequent with the terms that are used in tai-chi chuan.
